Nuclear Defence
Our Client has a requirement for a Commissioning Manager, who will be required to work on a contract basis in Berkshire on a major Nuclear Defence project.
Role Purpose:
To lead and manage the commissioning, testing and handover of complex systems, equipment and building services within a highly regulated nuclear environment. You will play a key role in ensuring all commissioning activities are delivered safely, compliantly and in line with project and regulatory requirements.
Job Role Responsibilities:
- Advise on safety requirements for all commissioning activities
- Manage and deliver commissioning work packages across a complex infrastructure project
- Ensure compliance with Client commissioning procedures
- Support the development and implementation of the overall commissioning strategy
- Manage the production, review and approval of commissioning and test documentation
- Plan and coordinate commissioning activities including FAT and SAT with suppliers
- Integrate commissioning requirements and pre-requisites into the project programme
- Support construction planning to enable phased system handover
- Monitor and report on commissioning progress and readiness
- Manage test failures and drive resolution and re-testing activities
- Coordinate commissioning activities with installation, completion and other stakeholders
- Lead stakeholder engagement and chair commissioning, design and change reviews
- Ensure consistent application of safe systems of work across all commissioning activities
- Produce Lessons Learned / Learning from Experience reports
Experience / Skills / Knowledge / Qualifications:
- Significant experience in commissioning management on large, complex projects
- Background in nuclear, defence or other highly regulated industries
- Strong understanding of commissioning methodologies and system integration
- Experience managing supplier-led commissioning and test programmes
- Knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements within nuclear environments
- Proven ability to manage stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams
- Strong communication, leadership and organisational skills
- Ability to work independently and within a wider project team
Qualifications:
- Degree qualified or equivalent experience
- Full UK driving licence
- SC Clearance required (DV or willingness to obtain desirable)
